Biography
Graduated from Michigan State University with M.S. and Ph.D. in Crop and Soil Sciences. Currently, a professor at Oregon State University (OSU). He has been teaching a web, graduate and undergraduate courses, in Seed Science and Technology and related subjects and major advisor of many graduate students. His national and international activities include 2016 Chair of seed physiology, production and technology division of the Crop Science Society of America; Associate Editor of Crop Science; Chair of the research committee, the statistics committee and the seed moisture committee of the Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA); invited professor in Brazil, Uruguay, Nepal, and Canada. His research activities include seed quality evaluation in relation to the physiology of seed germination, vigor, dormancy, storability, post-harvest technologies, and the relationship to field performance. He is an author and co-author of books such as Seed Testing- Principles and Practices, Seed Moisture Determination handbook and Seed Vigor Testing handbook. He is also an author of book chapters, and over 50 refereed, peer-reviewed and extension articles.
